Position: Program Officer
Reports to: Executive Director
Location: Washington DC
A new position at UNRWA USA, this is a unique opportunity for a programs officer or project manager, who is passionate about issues facing refugees, the Middle East, and Palestine, to build out meaningful nationwide programs in support of UNRWA USA’s mission.
What you’ll do:
Build, structure, and manage a range of programs (including planning, recruitment, outreach, selection, implementation, reporting):
UNRWA Alumni Association and associated endowment
UNRWA USA University Scholarship Fund
UNRWA USA Volunteer Program
UNRWA USA Internship Program
Create cases for support of UNRWA’s work and winning grant proposals, and build long-lasting relationships with foundations across the country in coordination with the Executive Director;
Conceptualize, develop, and coordinate public advocacy and educational campaigns that align with the organization's mission and goal of increasing American awareness of the plight of Palestine refugees and UNRWA’s work;
Serve as the organization’s Salesforce administrator and liaise with consultant in order to ensure that we are maximizing efficiency and capitalizing on the full features and benefits of the system based on staff needs;
Assist with stewardship activities to build long-standing relationships with individuals, communities, and like-minded organizations.

Skill we’d like you to have (not required):
A strong understanding of UNRWA’s work and the situation for Palestine refugees;
Experience working with the Arab American community;
