Dear UNRWA Alumni,
On World Refugee Day (June 20), we announced the launch of the UNRWA Alumni Association (USA), which is an organized group of people who share the common experience of having attended UNRWA schools and are now citizens or residents of the United States. Through their personal stories and advocacy efforts, members aim to help change the US narrative around Palestine refugees and subsequently generate widespread American support for UNRWA. If you have not yet joined, it’s free! Sign-up here
Since recruiting many new members, we now want to provide you the opportunity to connect with one another at the inaugural UNRWA Alumni Reunion from September 25-28, 2019, in Washington DC.
We’ve heard from you that one of the most important things you’d like out of this association are opportunities to give back. With that in mind, we’ve planned this reunion around UNRWA USA’s first-ever Advocacy Day which will provide a platform for you to urge the United States government to reinstate funding to UNRWA so the Agency can continue to carry out its critical programs for Palestine refugees.
You are the best ambassadors for our work and Advocacy Day will not be successful without you. We hope to welcome at least 50 alumni, one for every US state, to participate in this historic effort.
I encourage you to check out the full list of events we have planned for the reunion and sign-up to participate below.
In gratitude and solidarity,
Director of Foundation Relations + Strategic Programs
