Palestine refugees in Syria are starving.
Over the last four years, the situation in Syria has deteriorated beyond imagination–Palestinians and Syrians alike have lived through horrifying violence, multiple displacements, severe destruction, and economic turmoil.
One of the most pressing problems facing Palestine refugees affected in Syria is food insecurity. Despite the once thriving, well-established Palestinian communities that existed in Syria before the war, approximately 95% of Palestine refugees now depend on UNRWA for food assistance. These staggering numbers are compounded by lack of humanitarian access to the worst-hit areas.
Palestine refugees have historically shown profound resilience–but the current conflict in Syria threatens the survival of far too many. Malnutrition wracks the bodies of innocent children, and basic necessities are out of reach for tens of thousands.
