Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)

A donor-advised fund (DAF) allows you to give back to a cause that’s close to your heart. We are glad you are choosing to support the Palestine refugees through UNRWA USA. It’s an opportunity to help the needs of Palestine refugees – but on your own terms. Thus, you have the flexibility to tailor your philanthropic giving in easy, cost-effective ways and your donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent by law. and the donor will receive a receipt from your DAF administrator for tax purposes.

If you have a donor-advised fund with Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, or BNY Mellon, you can make your grant recommendation to UNRWA USA through the DAF Direct online form. If your donor-advised fund is not listed here, please contact your adviser at your DAF sponsoring organization directly to make your recommendation.

If you do not wish to make your DAF grant recommendation via DAF Direct, please direct your DAF sponsoring organization to make checks payable to UNRWA USA and mail to: UNRWA USA, P.O. Box 18697, Washington DC, 20036.

Stock donation

Please send stock donations by wire transfer to our broker or by mailing securities directly to our organization. Donors receive a tax deduction on a gift of stock based on the value of the stock on the day it is received by American Friends of UNRWA or by our broker. Wire transfers can be made to:

Employer Matching

Employer matching gift programs give donors an opportunity to double and sometimes even TRIPLE their impact by having their company match their donations. Matching gifts can provide general support or be designated for a specific campaign. Every company is different and may have its own guidelines for matching gifts. Contact your personnel office to find out if your company has a matching gift program.

You can leave behind a legacy of caring that will support, protect, and empower countless Palestinian refugees. With that in mind, we hope you'll consider including a gift to UNRWA USA in your will or living trust. This charitable bequest is simple and flexible:

• Just a few sentences in your will or trust are all that is needed. Consult with your attorney to add the necessary language. The bequest can be in either a dollar or percentage amount.

• Because you are not actually making a gift until after your lifetime, you can change your mind at any time.

• You can also structure the bequest to leave a specific item or make the gift contingent on certain events.

If your estate is subject to estate tax, your gift is entitled to an estate tax charitable deduction for the gift's full value. UNRWA Sulafa Embroidery Project

UNRWA Sulafa Embroidery Project is located in Gaza City and provides income-generating opportunities for hundreds of refugee women through a network of 9 community centers across the Strip. Sulafa is a nonprofit project established by UNRWA in 1950 as a part of the Social Service Program. 

Sulafa Embroidery Project aims to provide income for the Strip's refugee women and to ensure that the traditional art form of embroidery is kept alive. Women, by receiving the embroidery work, earn an average of $40 per month, a significant amount in the area where a majority of people live below the poverty line ($2/day per household). 

When you buy Sulafa embroidered products, you're supporting the lives and livelihoods of over 400 women from 8 refugee camps in the Gaza Strip and their families.
