Advocate

It’s been six months of relentless Israeli airstrikes, forced displacement, and total devastation in the Gaza Strip. Over 34,000 people including over 14,500 children have been killed. The people of Gaza are now facing mass starvation and are at imminent risk of famine.

The healthcare system has collapsed, and humanitarian operations are under threat hindering their ability to safely deliver lifesaving assistance.

It has been six months too long. The people of Gaza cannot wait.

Join UNRWA USA in calling for an immediate ceasefire and urge your elected officials to do the same, ensuring the safety of civilians and unimpeded access to essential humanitarian resources.

ACT NOW! Send this pre-drafted letter and/or call your reps to prevent further loss of life.

IMPORTANT: Send daily until a sustained ceasefire is achieved.

Action #1: call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza!

Action #2: restore US government funding to UNRwa!

Last month, Congress passed, and President Biden signed into law, a statutory pause on US funding to UNRWA until March 2025. This congressional decision comes at a time when Gaza is in the midst of a catastrophic humanitarian crisis, including the imminent risk of famine.

As Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) stated, “UNRWA is the primary means of distributing desperately-needed assistance in Gaza – so denying funding for UNRWA is tantamount to denying food to starving people and restricting medical supplies to injured civilians. It also means cutting support for services – including schooling and health care – for over a million Palestinians in the West Bank, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan.”

UNRWA’s work is more critical than ever, and we need YOUR advocacy to ensure Congress resumes funding for the Agency in the Fiscal Year 2025 appropriations bill.

Contact your member of Congress to let them know you want your tax dollars to support UNRWA's humanitarian work for Palestine refugees.
