Looking for ways to stand with Gaza right now?

You can Gather for Gaza to raise awareness and funds for Palestine refugees. This can be done in a number of ways. Here are some suggested options, but feel free to make it your own:

  • Host a vigil or healing circle in your community. This can be in person or virtual.

  • Partner with local businesses to hold a benefit night where a portion of proceeds can be donated.

  • Is your birthday coming up? Make it charitable and turn it into a fundraiser.

We want this initiative to be as easy and accessible as possible. If you can’t or don’t want to host an event, you can simply create a fundraising page and share with friends and family via social media.

What is a Gather for Gaza?

Gather for Gaza is a grassroots initiative where we ask people across the United States to host their own events to raise money for emergency assistance for Palestine refugee families in the Gaza Strip.

We all want to feel connected in these tragic and fearful times, and this is an opportunity to connect with those near and dear to you and find a sense of broader humanity and global community.

Whatever theme or format you choose, the purpose of your gathering for Gaza is to connect with your community to educate them on the humanitarian situation facing Palestine refugees and generate funds for our emergency assistance program.

Or you can choose just to fundraise.

how to host a gather for gaza: 5 easy steps

Be sure to take photos or screenshots of your event to share with us.

step 1: sign up online + set a goal

When you sign up, a fundraising page and personal URL will automatically be created for you.

Your goal should be divisible by 235 (the cost to provide one Palestine refugee with food and non-food items such as blankets, bedding, and hygiene kits) so when you talk to your guests, you can be clear about how many people in Gaza you will help. Aim high! The more money you raise, the more families you can support.

step 2: plan the details of your gathering

Pick a date, time, and location for your gathering. If virtual, you can use free services like Zoom, Teams, or Google Meet.

Get creative with your event. If you're already planning to bring friends and loved ones together for a dinner, a holiday affair, happy hour, or birthday celebration, make your get-together a charitable endeavor by framing it as a Gather for Gaza event.

step 3: invite guests + start fundraising!

Use email, social media, or group chat to invite the people you want to attend your gathering and include a link to your Gather for Gaza fundraising page. Even if they can’t join live, they can still give toward your efforts.

step 4: host your gather for Gaza event

  1. πŸ—£ Talk about Palestine refugees and UNRWA USA (ask us if you need talking points)

  2. πŸ’¬ Discuss any personal connection you have to the cause and ask guests to share their own

  3. πŸ’» Show your viewers how to donate. It’s important to express urgency

  4. πŸ’² ASK GUESTS TO DONATE!

  5. πŸ’Œ Show your gratitude.
