Do you want to help make life better for Palestine refugees in the Middle East using your design and illustration skills? UNRWA USA is seeking a part-time Graphic Designer to commit 20 set hours per week (with the possibility of increasing hours in the future).
In this part-time role, you will conceptualize and execute a variety of high-quality design assets to elevate our brand and better tell our story. From social media graphics to event materials to fundraising appeals, you will help us connect with diverse audiences through bold, compelling, and consistent visual design that align with UNRWA USA’s brand identity.
What you’ll do:
Graphic Design:
Develop images, illustrations, infographics, and other graphics for use on UNRWA USA’s social media, email marketing, on our websites unrwausa.org and gaza5k.org, digital ads, and other digital communications.
Support visual branding for Let's Talk UNRWA, Palestine Grapevine, Voices of UNRWA, virtual events, and other communications initiatives.
Create event branding, promotional materials (flyers, posters), merchandise, and print collateral.
Adapt designs for multiple platforms and provide templates for recurring campaigns (so staff can adapt and reuse).
Develop images, illustrations, infographics, and visual storytelling pieces for digital platforms.
Design, lay out, and prepare print-ready files for fundraising appeals, postcards, and reports.
Partner with the team on annual report design and layout (all text/content/images provided).
Develop virtual and in-person event branding, materials, and promotions, including our signature Gaza 5K, campaigns, and initiatives to drive fundraising, build community engagement, and attract new American audiences to our cause.
Become well-versed in UNRWA USA’s visual brand identity to ensure designs follow current style and brand guidelines and update collateral accordingly.

You’re a creative self-starting visual communicator with impeccable taste and a portfolio to match! You’re known for your can-do spirit, creativity, resourcefulness, consistency, and people skills.
You have 3+ years of work experience designing for print and web.
You’re an expert in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere) and Canva.
You are detail-oriented and able to deliver on deadlines consistently.
You’re experienced in print production (setting print-ready files for collateral, packaging, etc, and working with vendors to ensure consistency in color and quality).
You have a commitment to and respect for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) work and utilize an equity lens when designing and communicating.
Bonus skills:
Experience with Arabic typography, calligraphy.
Experience designing for organizations doing work related to the Middle East.
A strong understanding of UNRWA’s work and the plight of/realities facing Palestine refugees.
Experience working with the Arab American community.
