Your gift is a goal for Gaza

A chance for every child to simply be a child, play safely, dream freely, and live with dignity.

The World's Game.

Every Child's Right.

While the world cheers and every nation flies its flag at the 2026 World Cup, the children in Gaza watch from the sidelines, stateless, and unseen. They love soccer just as much, playing with deflated balls through rubble, without safety, or a guaranteed tomorrow.

At UNRWA USA, we honor the memory of the children in Gaza who should still be here playing today. At the same time, we stand with the living children who navigate daily survival, using soccer to bring them joy, friendship, hope—a universal language, connecting people across borders, cultures, and generations.

This is why, for a limited time, you will receive our exclusive “Your gift is a goal for Gaza” jersey  when you become a Solidarity Sustainer starting today until July 31, 2026.  Your monthly gift provides life-saving humanitarian aid to more than 5 million Palestine refugees.

Designed by Palestinian artist Bint Bandora, the “Your gift is a goal for Gaza” jersey celebrates soccer, Palestinian culture, and the right for every child to play safely with joy.

The Story Behind the Design

Every detail tells a story

Created by Palestinian artist Bint Bandora—mixed media artist and graphic designer—this limited-edition UNRWA USA jersey blends Palestinian cultural symbolism, remembrance, and lived experience into a wearable work of art that supports Palestine refugees.

Inspired by Palestinian identity, resilience, and community, the design combines traditional cultural elements with contemporary streetwear aesthetics, creating a jersey that honors both heritage and hope.

Design elements include:

This jersey isn’t just apparel; it carries the daily realities, history, and survival of Palestine. The fabric grounds itself in the land and sea, mixing the Keffiyeh’s traditional fishnet patterns of Gaza's fishing families with the olive branches that mark generations of deep roots. On the shoulders, Tatreez embroidery honors a craft passed from mothers to daughters. The Gaza sunbird, a leaping gazelle, and the waves of the shoreline look forward—spaces of movement, grace, strength, and the enduring spirit of the Palestinian people. Mirroring the heavy truth of today, the design centers on three young children, two of them amputees, playing soccer. It is a stark reminder of war, but also of the stubborn joy of childhood that refuses to be cleared away. Backed by the UNRWA USA logo, the reverse side carries a direct promise to Palestine refugees: “Showing Palestine Refugees That Americans Care.” It is a commitment to uplift the voices, experiences, and humanity of Palestine refugees while securing the vital resources they need.

We Remember Them

With people around the world watching the largest global soccer tournament, we at UNRWA USA want to take this moment, to reflect on and honor the children whose lives were taken while they were simply being children.

We remember Ahed Bakr (10), Zakaria Bakr (10), Mohammad Bakr (11), and Ismail Bakr (9), four cousins who were killed while playing soccer on a beach in Gaza in July 2014.

Their names remain a reminder of something universal: every child has a fundamental right to play in safety. We also remember the thousands of children whose childhoods have been shaped by conflict, displacement, and loss.

We carry both memory and presence forward through action, solidarity, and hope.

The Impact of Every Goal

Every jersey purchase funds UNRWA’s ongoing humanitarian efforts to support Palestine refugees in Gaza, the West Bank (including East Jerusalem),  Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria.  For more than 75 years, UNRWA has provided essential services, humanitarian assistance, and protection to Palestine refugees, helping families navigate conflict, displacement, and ongoing humanitarian challenges. Through its programs, UNRWA supports access to education, healthcare, clean water, sanitation services, shelter, psychosocial support, emergency relief, and other critical assistance that helps families live with dignity.

Today, UNRWA continues to serve millions of Palestine refugees, working to uphold dignity, opportunity, and hope in the face of extraordinary circumstances.

UNRWA is still in Gaza.
UNRWA is still delivering critical support.
And UNRWA still needs your support.
